Introducing Hannah Choi

LA Calligrapher, Engraver & Live Event Artist

Training. As a Korean American artist, my passion for calligraphy is inspired by my grandfather. My first formal instruction came in 2014 at the Scriptorium at Reed College, where I was finishing my BA in Studio Art. (Fun fact, this is the same institution where Apple founder Steve Jobs famously studied calligraphy.)

Background. After graduation, I packed my life into a small hatchback and drove down the West Coast to Los Angeles. The years that followed were full of exploration, including working as a 3D CAD technician for a luxury jeweler in Pasadena and a short stint as a sign painter for Trader Joe’s, which led me to founding Choi Calligraphy in 2022.

What can Choi Calligraphy do for you? My work is dedicated to serving agencies, brand marketing teams, event planners, and corporate & private clients who find real value in artistry and want to deliver something genuinely memorable to their guests. I lead with my experience of completing over 200 live activations across Los Angeles and Orange County with some of the most exciting brands in beauty, fashion, luxury, tech, and hospitality.
